Cell marker information

CDT1 - Cell cycle

The CDT1 protein is involved in the DNA replication process, acting in the pre-replication complex formation during G1 phase. It is highly expressed during the whole cell cycle, but is degraded by the proteasome during phases S and G2 of the cell cycle, thus acting as a G1 phase indicator.

We use a fusion protein of the aminoacids 30 to 120 of CDT1 and a fluorescence protein to identify cell cycle phase by measuring the fluorescence intensity in each cell.
