CPD - Cumulative Population Doubling Time

Direct counting the number of cells is the best measure of the impact a treatment has on the cell fitness and this is classically used to study the impact of cancer therapies in vitro. Members of our team have extensively used CPD to analyze the short, medium and long-term effects of therapies on cancer cells. Reduction in the proliferation capacity of a population of cells is the classical measurement of replicative senescence established by Hayflich in the early times of cell culture.
